Facilities and Equipment
Our state of the art equipment include a Humphrey Vision Field analyzer and a Synemed Retinal Camera; we have two examination rooms complete with new phoropters and projectors. Each examination room is also equipped with a binocular indirect ophthalmoscope, a biomicroscope, 2 tonometers (non-contact and applanator) and a keratometer.
In 2004, we were able to add a pachometer, to measure the thickness of the cornea and a tonopen, a less invasive applanating tonometer.
2006 saw the addition of an autorefractor and a handheld keratometer.
2007,the Synemed Retinal Camera was added to our state of the art instrumentation.
2010, we will be offering GDX imaging services quarterly for anyone who is at risk for glaucoma and any diseases that can affect the Optic Nerve.
Our lab is full service: the lens edging is not done on the premises but all the information is sent electonically by internet (secured); an electronic tracer traces the frame to complete the ordering lenses. The materials are then assembled by Donna or Dr. Potvin and then the specifications of the glasses are verified. No materials are dispensed without verification.
