| More than 50% of glaucoma patients do not know they have glaucoma!
A GDX imaging system that maps the thickness of the nerve fiber layer of the optic nerve and the retina, will be available quarterly in our office for patients who are considered glaucoma suspects: family history, anatomy, general health, medications being taken and intra-ocular pressure.
This system allows us to diagnose and manage glaucoma much earlier than the conventional methods. Visual Field testing and Tonometry are still necessary to follow and aid in diagnosis but with the GDX, the diagnosis can occur earlier and may help in preventing any vision loss from glaucoma.
If you are at risk, our doctors will advise this test. The office visit and GDX testing are covered by most insurance companies.
The testing is offered by Mobile Glaucoma Diagnostics owned by Dr. Alan Leavitt.

| We are pleased to offer screening and diagnostic retinal imaging with our new Canon/Synemed Retinal Camera.
At the time of your examination, the doctor will advise you if you should have photo documentation in your chart due to any health concerns. These photos are considered diagnostic and generally covered by insurance.
Remember, even if you are healthy it is a good idea to have baseline photos taken in case a comparison is someday needed. We offer baseline photos at a discounted rate because they are not covered by insurance.
